They did not work for me
SBphoto42
I love these sound panels. Very simple to mount to the wall. I used tiny picture frame nails and a brass hammer to install them. They barely make a hole in the wall. Since these are 1/4 thick I used 3/8 nails. I purchased the orange and dark grey 12 each. Works like a charm.-Scot

This product literally did absolutely nothing regarding the sound of my roommates.
ARinLA
Calling these sound absorption panels is a bit of a stretch (compared to 2" thick acoustic panels, e.g. ATS). However, if you need to knock down the harder edges of noise and have limited space these work well. They can be shaped with a sharp pair of scissors leaving crisp edges and they are stiff enough that they can be mounted with small screws in the corners. I used these for a baffle system in an air duct when we discovered our new forced-air furnace was quite robust and to tile the inside of the door of of our furnace closet. The sound level diminished some and more importantly, it cut out the sharper mechanical noise.

Great product that works well and exactly as described

Its okay, I wish it was more noise canceling

I bought these as there is absolutely no sound insulation in the wall between my room and my roommates. I can hear every word of his conversations through his laptop and everything his friends say in response. I bought these panels to try and remedy it. I covered my whole wall with them and it slightly reduced noise, but not majorly. I had some left over and I asked my roommate to put them up on his wall. This made a huge difference. I can still tell a conversation is going on in his room, but I can't hear his friend's respond or make out individual words. A worthwhile purchase.

works great and looks good too
bozzman78
you need to provide your own double sided tape, at a 3rd the cost of actual acoustic panels, it does not provided nearly its value in sound absorption. Mine came with at least 5 pieces that were stained. Item is ok to use to fill in gaps where a legit 2' x 4' sound panel cannot reach. I used them to cover closet doors and the entry door to my home theater.

It has helped reduce the amount of noise coming from the other condo so my daughter can sleep better.

Panels are very difficult to cut and use if not being put on a wall. I wanted to reduce the volume of a grandfather clock, and wanted to place them inside the upper and lower cabinet.
Debbie
I bought 2 boxes then realized we measured short. We ordered third box and it doesn’t match the first two. Just a fraction of a shade off!!!!

I was trying to stop the noises from the room above mine l don't think it made any differences.. The pannells are very easy to install but on and off some keeps falling down, l applied it on my room ceiling... l have used double side adhesive and careful because it will take the paint of the wall.. I don't know really how to review this it probably works for others but it didn't really fix my issues..

I don’t understand sound theory or whatever, so I don’t know if they work in theory. But they worked really *really* well for my project. We have a little CNC machine on our workbench. (It’s a little machine that cuts stuff out using a computer program and it’s basically like having a power tool running non-stop while it does its thing. We wanted the workshop quieter so we could make other noises with other power tools. So I built a box for it. Maybe 18” x 18“ x 24” or like 500 x 300 mm. I lined the box with these things and it’s really striking how quiet it is. I keep thinking somebody off in the distance must be vacuuming or something, then I realize it’s the machine right next to me, really quiet. For the box, wood glue actually held them fine. The colors weren’t consistent, but I wasn’t wallpapering my grandma’s dining room, you know? I think that’s why people use a checkerboard pattern.Oh, and somebody was right that they aren’t exactly 12” or even exactly the same height as width. Again, not a fashion accessory.Oh, as a weird aside, I have one glued to a piece of plywood for reasons, and it turns outthat a little board that’s half plywood half felt is an oddly satisfying thing. Shrug. Maybe I’ll find a way to make something out of the glued panels.Anyway, they were marvelous and I’m glad I have some more to play with.

Good product, I’d buy it again
Jeff
it did stop sound better than drywall but don't think it's gonna be like a vacuum-sealed sound-insulated double glass door, those kinds of performance on a panel are gonna cost hundreds of bucks per panel.

I live in an apartment with a bustling hallway and I can hear neighbors coming and going, opening and shutting their doors. So I bought these for inside of my door hoping for a bit of a muffle. NOPE. These just aren't quick thick enough to absorb any noise. I think lots of these positive review might be psychosomatic ... you put up noise dampening squares and convince yourself they dampened the noise.
elucky
I got these for the noisy return air intake. I opened the return air and glued them inside the duct on all sides. The sound meter said it dropped 6db from start to finish. I was hoping for 9-12db.

J'ai acheté ce produit pour bloguer les sons provenant de l'extérieur . Je viens de les installer, cela semble fonctionner.

These worked for my application but, at least in my case, the panels were not exactly 12"x12". They are about 1/4" short in each dimension.

Very easy to install. Thicker than I thought they would be. Pleasantly surprised. Changed the whole look of my room.

The tiles look good. I cut them to fit the pattern I picked. I had to use an exacto knife because it went a lot better than scissors. They don’t stop the noise from my neighbour, they absorb it. There’s no insolation in the wall that separates our apartments, so when her boyfriend is there it’s like they’re living with me. I have been looking for temporary and cost effective solutions, this helped, in the sense that it reduces the echo. The sound doesn’t travel through the apartment, but I can still hear them when I’m near the area where they hang out the most.I would buy these tiles again because they help with the quality of sound in my apartment. I wonder what it would be like if my neighbour had these.
Silvia Castillo
Dan mucha comezón, no sirven para estar expuestos! Alguna solución?
Matthew C.
Not the sound deadening I had hoped for alone but if you paint them , what a difference. They drink the paint which add that additional density needed for sound proofing.

I ordered these for my office wall that essentially is on the opposite side of my bedroom. It’s a small wall about 6’ wide by 9’ tall. I installed these over as much surface area as I possibly could from floorTo ceiling. On the opposite side of the wall (in my bedroom) I also installed 5 extremely large sound panels in an effort to absorb sounds coming from my office to bedroom (I teach online from 3am-8am). I decided to test out my hard work and had my daughter talk to me on the other side of the wall and sadly at just the level of talking I could clearly hear every single word as if I had done nothing. In hindsight I would be better without them. I purchased three sets. I will note, they are pretty, extremely solid and seem to be made very well. Just sad I spent a lot of money on them and they did not help with the sound coming through the wall.
Christopher J
I purchased a set of your grey acoustic tiles and some 3M double sided foam tape over a year ago. I never had any problems. The tiles stayed on the wall. I decided to add a bit more, and this year I ordered 2 new sets, this time adding 12 black, and 12 red. I purchased the exact same 3M tape, only this time, the tiles will not stay up on the wall. I know it is not my wall, because it is clean, and the other 12 stay put. I only used 4 3M tape pads on those. This new batch, I am using 5, 6 and even tried 7 - and they are not sticking. They stay for a few hours, but then just fall off. For a $40+ purchase, plus the $10 3M foam tape, I can not just let it go, and I am not going to keep adding more tape as that is not the issue. No response from seller. RETURNED.

adhesion works with 3m double sided tape, but you gotta be mindful of which side to put it on as one side is flat and the other is fluffy, you want to tape the flat side. Thickness is super thin hence the absorbency is absolutely terrible as well. I bought these to dampen or lower my sound in office, but it didn't show any difference in noise level. False advertising, this is merely for aesthetics, J regret buying this twice. Maybe I will get a refund this week... as it's only been a week.
Mae Ayotte
Works well, adhered no problem with dollar store mounting tape. Was impressed by the thickness. Noticed an immediate decrease in reverb in the room, the sound from the home next to me seemed a little less intense as well. I might do an entire wall with it.The quality:One of them had a very noticeable red stain. There was a different texture where the red stain was. I'm assuming it's food or a burn. As it was immediately noticeable to me, I'm not super impressed with the quality control.

I definitely feel like it's reduced and dampened the amount of noise coming into my apartment. I just need to narrow down one more spot where the annoying sound of my neighbour is coming in. (An annoying drunk who gets into shouting matches and plays his music loudly.)I was happy that they arrived quickly so I could get better sleep that much sooner.I used Command strips to adhere them to the wall.

Package arrived on time and in excellent condition.Panels were utilized behind our fridge that was omitting a high frequency whine (35-38db).Panels were attached to wall with double sided tape on the back and side wall nearest the compressor. After installation the noise level dropped (30-33db).

I actually purchased these felt tiles to place on the wall with our dartboard, to protect both the wall and the darts, not for sound absorption. I was thinking about using cork, but this seemed as though it’d look cooler in our basement “pub.”Unfortunately, they arrived in two separate shipments. I put the first two sets up yesterday, and they’re a bluish gray. The last three sets arrived today, and you can see from the pic that they’re definitely a different dye lot. If it were for soundproofing, I probably wouldn’t mind, but it’s not as cool looking as it would be if they were all the same dye lot. Otherwise, it looks good, and I’m sure it will do the trick.
Cheyenne
I bought it accidentally. I tryed refunding it when I realized but it says it was already in shipment which is good thing because it was already getting ready for shipping .

I just received 48 of these tiles, and have not yet installed them. Reading that the size is not exactly 12"x12", I decided to measure several of them. Let me be more exact than the other reviewers: The tiles have a grain to them, and if you hold the tile such that the grain runs horizontally, then the height of the tiles are consistently 11.75". The length of the tiles seem to average 11 13/16", but some are 11 3/4" at the top and 11 7/8" at the bottom (measuring the length horizontally). When installing, you need to pay attention to the grain of the tile and install them all the same way. There is some give to the tiles, so you can account for the differences.I bought the tiles to reduce echo in my listening room, and have no doubt they will work well for that purpose. I had to deduct a star due to the misleading and inaccurate description of the tile's size.
Kevin
Great for the backing of pyramid studio foam panels. Not Soundproof. But muffled outside sounds asorbency makes recording and acoustics make a nice non reverb echo sound. 10 db diff outside room with meter.

I absolutely love these. I have had issues with my downstairs neighbours hearing me at night. We talk and stay up fairly late because of our schedule. It has had a poor effect on our neighbours. We had been searching for solutions to deaden the sound from our voices. We figured out which walls the sound was coming from and installed these tiles. The issue is gone. My neighbours are happy and the sound in the room is so much nicer. I am absolutely surprised at how well these work. Everything sounds better including music the tv and our voices plus my neighbours don’t hear us anymore. We raised some tiles off the wall and made them look a little less recording studio and a little more bedroom. I love the way it turned out and I love the comfortable sound and feel it has added to my space. I will be purchasing more of these for the rest of my house and I would recommend them to anyone who has any sound issues in their space. You don’t realize how bad the sounds in a house are until you instal a product like this and get that crisper and clearer sound. It’s not easy to explain but it’s basically as if the sound just hits your ears and completely drops so you hear the next words without hearing the echo from the last sound that you heard. It’s a calmer more relaxed atmosphere because of it.

These things are impossible to hang up, I've had them hung up for half an hour and they all fall down on top of me while gaming The material used makes it impossible to stick to anything vertically

J'ai installé ces panneaux dans un bâti de serveur pour absorber un peu le bruit des ventilateurs des appareils. Facile à couper.

I have lots of windows in my apartment so I probably need way more of these than I anticipated. From what I've used, they seem to work somewhat. But I won't be able to tell until I can properly seal all the open window spaces

I purchased these to help absorb sound through a wall between two AirBnB spaces. They help mute the sound and do what they advertise.

Have stapled to the ceiling to deaden room echo for my home studio. Have made a material difference in sound quality.

We used these to cover an entire floor of a bedroom due to obnoxiously loud, crazy cat-hoarder neighbors that were prone to screaming and banging their ceiling.Well... it was a bit of work using calking adhesive and covering the floor, but well-worth it.These tiles literally muted-out any noise that the two crones continued to make. That drove them nuts :D

The seller shouldn't use the term "soundproofing" in the title or description and I didn't buy expecting any degree of sound proofing. However, these panels are somewhat useful in helping to absorb sound reflections within a room. They were convenient for me to mount on my ceiling (since they are lightweight) using 1 1/2" long wire nails which also are long enough so that it's possible to secure them to the ceiling and leave a small air gap between the panel and the ceiling which should theoretically improve their effectiveness. They're cheap and easy to work with. I can't give them 5 starts but considering their price and overall 4 rating seems reasonable. If you're trying to control sound reflections within a room just know that panels like this (and acoustic foam panels) are only really effective for higher frequency absorption and possibly some middle frequencies. Low frequencies are not so easy to control in a room and need something much more dense than panels like this.
jojo
Affordable and the same material as others. Does the job. Perfect. My online meetings sounds better now. I will buy more in the future. I wish they have white though.

I like this product. I bought this for my son room. For sure it's much better then all others foam isolation products . It holds on a wall very good with double scotch, not like foam isolation, there are keep falling all the time. Very light and absorb sounds quite well. A little bit more expensive then foaming isolation but worth it

I had ordered this light gray, top tile, and a dark gray, bottom tile to have a checkered pattern. As you can see, the light gray, this order, is little different from the dark. It just looks odd.
Henry Sullivan
I've purchased several of these and they simply don't work to prevent sound. I've got them on the front and back of a door to a bedroom. Don't waste your money buying these.

very poor product it will not stick to metal door or spray glue as indicated very poor product and should not be sold without a guaranteed recommended adhesive.

I got a roommate who turns on loud music that I don’t mind, but basically got this for decoration for my home studio and wanted to change the color of my room. I got sent the wrong color, but the gray was darker than expected. Still looks great and modern. Absorption works best if you cover the whole wall more than just parts of it. It won’t completely eliminate sound, but will make it sound more muffled than reduced.

This product it absolutely does nothing to reduce any sound. I covered an entire window just to Hope to have a sound reduced by a small margin and that wasn't the case. It helps to block the light that's about it but nothing with sound. Complete waste of money

A month ago, a lady moved into my bottom apartment and how she got the apartment is beyond me since it is clear she does not have a job. I work and study from home and this lady plays her tv at a loud volume at all hours of the day for extended periods of time, I am talking 14+ hours, nearly everyday. I was hoping she would exhaust herself out but being a nuisance must be her superpower. I was hoping that these panels would at least reduce some of the noise, it did absolutely nothing. I am having a better go with playing noise reducing brown noise YouTube videos at a volume 30 on my TV so I can sleep at night and work during the day.

More like thermal insulation than noise insulation.

I don't know where the reviews come from saying this product could absorb noise and create a quiet environment for them. With my experience, it does not. So do not buy it if you want to use it shield you from the noise from outside.

A waste of time and money

Sorry to say but these things have a horrid and tox smell to them. I have some melamine foam on order for acoustical solutions and am hoping that will be non smelly. In the mean time I am going to hit these with an ozone generator to see if that will get rid of some of the smell. Buyer beware.PS, these are not for sound proofing, you need heavy mass for that. These are to abosrb sound over 500hz. If you want to make them a little more effective then space them off the wall 1/2".
Marv1n_711
Works great.Looks good.I attached the squares to a cardboard trifold using double sided tape then straight forward nailed to the wall.

The material is nice. I can feel the noise reduced a lot. It was easy to install as well. Recommended.

I've been using the foam panels in my home studio but wanted to add some better looking panels and these 100% did the trick! They were well packaged so came in good shape and are as pictured and look very clean when hung. The acoustics in my room appear to be better as well so I am 100% satisfied with my purchase and will buy another pack to complete my other wall

It's ok, difficult to find material to stick to door, tried glue, double tape, finally used cardboard with gorilla glue but not satisfied

For the price they are ok but definitely not superior sound absorbers

We had a new ac installed and it was so much louder than the old one. Since the ac closet is right next to our living area it was a real problem. We lined the utility closet with these tiles using a caulked adhesive and reduced the noise significantly! Much more effective than we had anticipated!

Versatile solution for sound control on the cheap. In my case have some expensive sound panels in music studio but needed some extra pieces to put on mirror, etc. using pre primed 20x24 blank canvas panels, adding this to the inside of frame makes great budget panel. Easily cut with scissors or utility knife.

Very satisfied with my purchase. I'll buy more as needed. So far, the use of the effect is very good, there is no quality problems. I highly recommend it for home studios.

The most important thing is that the product is very thick, and there is no error in size. The customer service has been very patient in introducing and answering questions for me. The service is very considerate and careful. Such a good product, I have recommended it to my friends.

Using this to block the noise from multiple neighbors air conditioners and an obnoxious ceiling fan under my bedroom.I put them in strategic locations, in groups of 6, and they really help. With my ear up against the wall vs the panel, I would say noise and vibration has dropped about 75%. Some frequencies still bleed through, but are much reduced.Money well spent.
Jocelyne Caisse
I use it to stop vibration under a air conditionner on the floor. They are perfect
Brendon
It does its intended purpose: reducing echos and reverb effect in a room.-----These panels are aren't the heaviest panels so don't expect the efficiency of studio-grade panels. If you want studio-grade results, pay for studio-grade materials. Otherwise, this should work for any other general use.For the price, no complaints.----------------------This is not made for sound proofing, and should not be expected to do so because this is NRC-rated (Noise Reduction Coefficient). NRC rates how well it SOAKS up sound. The thickness and density affect how well it does this. This is sound-absorbing.STC-rated material BLOCKS sound out, because they are solid, heavy and non-permeable to prevent sound transmission. Mass-loaded vinyl (MLV) is a great item for sound-blocking.

I don't think these make any difference at all in sound absorption. Double-sided tape doesn't stick to them either.

These worked well to help with the room reflections as they should. I bought two packages to help with the sound and they did the trick. Lightweight and easy to apply to the wall with a two way tape. Excellent.

Don't buy. They do not work. They did absolutely nothing to absorb the sound. Don't waste your money

I bought these to try and quiet my neighbor's TV (which I'm pretty sure is mounted right against my bedroom wall). I mounted them with some velcro strips from the hardware store in a 4x4 grid right over where the TV noise was the loudest. I'm honestly shocked that they worked as well as they did, I think it's because the noise is coming from such a specific place on the wall. If you're trying to block out more general noise, you might have less success. They were very cheap (compared to other options on Amazon) and the only real problem is that they aren't particularly consistently sized so they don't quite line up when you mount them next to each other.I really can't speak to more serious applications like recording studios or heavy-duty noise isolation but for my use-case, they were perfect.
George
I built a sheet metal enclosure for my 4.7kw 233cc gas generator. The enclosure is on a bumper rack on my rv and about a two foot cube. This is a general purpose type of generator, it’s a open frame type, large muffler but not a silencer, so it does not have any type of noise suppression devices at all. I got 92db at 25 feet. I lined the inside of my enclosure with this product and dropped the noise level down to 78-80db but it also removed a lot of the rattling noise of a air cooled motor creates. The noise is very muffled and not harsh to the ear. I only ordered enough of this product to cover the inside in one layer. For air flow reasons, I did not enclosure the bottom of the enclosure so only five of the six sides of my enclosure has sound suppressive material installed so unabated noise is still coming from the bottom of the enclosure. I took the sound reading in my driveway, on concrete, which probably would allow the sound to reflect or bounce out and up and probably will be quieter on grass or dirt that would absorb some of the noise. I think this is a pretty harsh test for any sound suppression product and I’m very impressed and happy with the results. I don’t know if using more of the product and installing a second layer would improve lowering the noise level. I would highly recommend this product and it’s a great price.

These appear to be sound tiles, like you might see in ceiling installations. Alas, they are simply squares of foam, thin squares at that. For $27, fuggedaboudid.
